The inform Scott Strange will lead a strong Australasian contingent from both the Japan Tour and OneAsia this week when the co-sanctioned Thailand Open is played for the second time.

"ScottStrange, who is currently ninth on the
Japan Tour money list, has been in good form this season and is one of several
highly credentialed players to make the trip from Japan for this week’s
tournament.

The 38-year-old finished runner-up in this
event when it was last played two years ago and will be keen to get on course
this week to try to go one better.

With two top-fives and no missed cuts in
his six starts so far this year Strange will be among the favourites when play
gets underway Thursday but he will have to overcome some quality players if he
is to post his first Japan Tour victory.

A strong field is gathered for the event
led by local hero Kiradech Aphibarnrat, already a European Tour winner this
year at the Shenzen International tournament in China.

Among the Australasian contenders Gareth
Paddison and Ryan Fox, both in the top-10 on the OneAsia order of Merit this
year, stand out as do two time OneAsia winner Matt Griffin and current and
former New Zealand Open winners Jordan Zunic and Dimi Papadatos.

Fiji International champion Steven Jeffress
and recent PGA Tour of Australasia winners Ryan Lynch and Lincoln Tighe are
also in the field as are rising stars Nathan Holman and Jake Higginbottom.
