Todd Sinnott has cashed his biggest European Tour cheque as he shared top Australasian honours with Jason Scrivener at the KLM Open in Holland.

The pair finished 8-under for the week at The Dutch course, Sinnott with a Sunday 67 and Scrivener a 68.

Heavy rain and strong winds saw the opening day’s play suspended with none of the afternoon wave completing their rounds, the tournament not getting back on schedule until Saturday.

Sinnott was among those caught in the delays and after his opening 68 had him inside the top 10 a disappointing 73 on day two saw him slip more than 35 places down the standings.

But the 25-year-old showed tenacity to claw his way back up the leaderboard, weekend rounds of 68-67 among the best scoring in the field.

The €20,376 cheque for finishing T20 is the biggest Sinnott has collected in Europe, eclipsing the € 14,310 he earned for finishing T44 last week at the European Masters.

Scrivener continues to put together a solid season, his rounds of 70-68-70-68 a model of consistency and extending his made cut streak to five.

The West Australian is 91^st on the Race to Dubai standings but has shown glimpses of his best form in recent weeks and will be gearing up for a big finish to the season.

Wade Ormsby finished a shot behind Scrivener and Sinnott to break a run of back to back missed cuts after some excellent golf in the past month.

Finishing T5 and T6 in consecutive weeks at Fiji and Denmark had Ormsby looking dangerous but his from cooled with two missed weekends.

He looked to be on his way to another difficult week with a poor opening round but overcame that 74 with scores of 68-66-69 to finish top 25.

New Zealand’s Ryan Fox never really got going for the week firing three rounds of 71 followed by a final round 70 to be 1-under and T60 while Sam Brazel was the last of the Australasians to make the cut finishing 1-over for the week and T65.

Brett Rumford, Terry Pilkadaris, Andrew Dodt, Jason Norris and Nathan Holman all missed the 36 hole cut.
