shoot 59 at the Nexus Risk TSA Group WA Open.
The Western Australian Golf Club, this week’s host venue, isn’t an overly long layout and Sinnott believes someone might be able to achieve the magical feat on the par-70 layout.
"With the three pretty gettable par-5’s and a few short par-4’s, I think if someone can get it going 59 watch will definitely be on at some point during the week," said Sinnott, who is loving the course.
"I really like the golf course. It’s probably one of the best presented golf courses I’ve seen for a state event around Australia."
Yokine’s best defences, fast greens and thick rough, have been mitigated this week by the rain so Sinnott, a long hitter himself, says players won’t be as fearful when attacking the course.
"There is enough room to hit plenty of drivers around here so I am looking forward to the week," added Sinnott.
"The fairways are pretty soft because there has been a bit of rain lately. So I can hit driver without fear of it running out into the trees or rough, it will stop where it lands."
"I think it will be a little advantage here but we will see at the end of the week."
A 59 is a rare and special occurrence, as Tim Hart knows only too well. He was on track for a 58 in the final round of the Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship before a triple bogey at the last saw him post a 61.
While Sinnott would love to be the one of fire a 59 this week, he would like to be the Champion on Sunday even more.
"Hopefully I will get the 59," laughed Sinnott.
"But I came here trying to win, so that’s what I’m here for. If I do it, I do it and if not hopefully I learn a few things and can get better from the week."Todd Sinnott tees off in the Nexus Risk TSA Group WA Open at 7.10am alongside Stephen Dartnall and amateur Min Woo Lee.
