John Wade and Peter Senior share the lead of the 2019 Sunshine Coast Masters ahead of the Ladbrokes Legends Tour event’s final round.
Played across the Twin Waters and Pelican Waters Golf Clubs, the pair both took advantage of the Pelican Waters layout in round two where the change of course paid dividends for Senior.
The Queenslander posted the best score of the day, a 5-under 67, to join overnight leader Wade in the lead.
“I played great today other than the par-4 5th where I played one bad shot which cost me a double bogey,” Senior said.
“Both courses are in unbelievable condition so it’s hard not to play well.”
Wade, however, was disappointed with his score of 73 after opening with a 65 the day prior.
“I donated quite a few balls to the water today and 73 was actually a flattering score,” Wade said.
Australia’s 1991 British Open Champion Ian Baker-Finch sits two shots back from the leaders alongside David Diaz and Matthew King at 4-under the card with one round still to play.
Diaz fired the best score around the Twin Waters layout carding a bogey-free 66.
“Everything clicked today and to be honest I left a few out there,” Diaz said.
The final round will take place at Twin Waters Golf Club from 10:00am AEST.
