Senden finished T16 at the tournament which saw six of the seven Australians in the field not make it to the final day.

Steven Bowidtch survived the 36-hole cut but was eliminated after 54 holes under the TOUR’s policy of reducing field sizes to 70 or less for Sunday play.

The Queenslander’s recent hectic schedule, including flying directly from his Presidents Cup debut in Korea to the US for last week’s Fry’s.com tournament, no doubt played a part in a Saturday 83 which ended his week.

Geoff Ogilvy was one shot shy of the Friday night number while Stuart Appleby and Rhein Gibson had two too many with Robert Allenby and Cameron Smith four and five outside the number respectively.

For Senden though, it was a different story as he made three birdies in his final six holes to climb to double digits under par for the week in what is traditionally a low scoring tournament.

Rounds of 70-65-72-67 saw him post a 10-under total and move 12 places up the leader board on the final day in his second start of the year.

Senden missed the cut at last week’s season opening tournament but found his rhythm quickly at TOC Summerlin with three birdies and an eagle in his opening round.

While he dropped more shots than he would like he also recorded six birdies in each of the second and third rounds suggesting his game is in need of tightening rather than any sort of overhaul.
