Former World Number one Adam Scott will be the main drawcard at this week’s Japan Open but seven other Australasians will be doing their best to capture one of the Japan Tour’s most prestigious titles.

2006 winner Paul Sheehan earns an invite this week and will
join Brad Kennedy, Scott Strange, Adam Bland, Stephen Leaney, Michael Hendry
and Matthew Guyatt who are all trying to become just the fourth Australasian
winner of the event.

Sheehan and Craig Parry (1997) are the only two Australians
to have lifted the crown while David Smail (2002) is the only New Zealander to
capture the title.

Interestingly both Smail and Brendan Jones have elected to
take the week off as the Japan Tour begins a swing of several of its most
prestigious events.

In coming weeks the Bridgestone Open, Visa Taiheiyo Masters,
Dunlop Phoenix and Casio World Open tournaments will feature some of the
biggest names in world golf and both will be looking to be competitive in
those.
