Brett Rumford made a huge return to tournament golf last week winning the WA PGA Championship after having 30 centimetres of his small intestine removed in February and more recently suffering a bout of shingles.
Rumford
showed a lack of tournament play wasn’t a factor as he took out the title in
Kalgoorlie.
This week he will be a favourite to win the Nexus Risk TSA Group WA
Open and claim back-to-back titles for the second time in his career.
"To draw on previous experience, I have gone back-to-back
so at least I can draw on that," said Rumford.
"But every week is so different
and every win is so unique. A lot of it is out of your control, but it would be
great to win the WA Open again."
"There’s going to stiff competition but it would
be fabulous if I could do it."
