Amateur golfers from across the country are teaming up with PGA Professionals to take on the world famous courses of the Melbourne Sandbelt next February
For the second year running Qantas Golf Club are giving golfers of all abilities the chance to experience some of the best golf courses in the world at the 2018 Qantas Golf Club Victoria Pro-Am Teams Challenge, part of the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am series.
The three day tournament gives participants the chance to challenge themselves on the pristine fairways of Yarra Yarra Golf Club, Kingston Heath Golf Club (currently ranked No.19 in the Golf Digest World Top 100) and Victoria Golf Club whilst competing for a share in over 300,000 Qantas Points.
Groups of three amateurs will team up with PGA Professionals as they tackle the courses that have hosted such prestigious tournaments as the World Cup of Golf, The Australian Masters and The Australian PGA Championship.
“Earlier this year we were blown away by the interest in the event,” said Robbie Bennetts of the Qantas Golf Club.
“Not just from across Australia but right around the world, with competitors even coming from the United States to experience and play the world famous sandbelt.
“The quality of the courses on the Melbourne Sandbelt is something you don’t see anywhere else in the country and an event like this provides the everyday golf tragic the chance to play them.”
The Pro-Am format also gives amateurs the chance to team up with PGA Professionals from across Australia, with the best two Stableford scores on each hole counting towards to the team.
“Robbie and his team really need to be congratulated for what they have put together,” said Heath McLeod PGA Tournament Coordinator.
“This event is being played on some of the best and most renowned golf courses in the world, plus with a PGA Professional there to help guide the amateurs around the tricky layouts, players will be able to get that big tournament experience.
“The team at Qantas Golf Club really know how to look after their guests too, with a pre-tournament welcome function, post-round food and entertainment and presentation dinners. The hospitality and overall experience is first class.”
Interested players are encouraged to act quickly as the 2017 event sold out quickly and with growing popularity of the Qantas Golf Club there is sure to be increased interest in the 2018 event.
