After a break of almost two months, the PGA Tour China resumes this week with the first of four consecutive tournaments to finish the season.A smaller than usual Australian contingent has made the journey to the stunning Clearwater Bay Golf Club in Hong Kong as the season winds down with James Gibellini the highest placed on the money list.
The Queensland native is in 30th position after nine events and has work to do if he is to finish inside the top-5 to earn the Web.com Tour status for 2017.
Joining Gibellini in the field are Do Eun An, Mitch Davis, Scot Barr, Grant Gibson, Chris Brown, Alex Hawley, Chris Wood, Taylor Cooper, Peter Martin, Jake Stirling, Jack Munro, Nathan Goulding and Daniel Nisbet.
2016 marks the first time the Tour has visited the spectacular course which came to prominence when hosting the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship in 2015.
Both Max McCardle and Rohan Blizard have elected to skip the tournament despite being in the top-10 on the Order of Merit and in with a chance of earning the Web.com Tour status.
McCardle presently lies eighth while Blizard is 10th but both have made their task somewhat more difficult by opting out of this week’s event.
