An even par round of 69 was enough for Californian Perry Parker to secure the win at the Elders Insurance Springwood Legends Pro-Am, edging Kiama Golf Club Head Professional Shaun O’Toole by one shot.

Blustery, dry conditions greeted the field of 58 Professionals on the tricky layout at the base of the Blue Mountains

Parker was somewhat a surprise winner having only arrived in Sydney on a flight from Los Angeles in the early hours of Thursday morning but he obviously brought with him a hot putter, making birdies on three of his first four holes to get off to a fast start.

When asked why he travels to Australia to play on the Ladbrokes PGA Legends Tour Parker said “I just love Australia and the people here. My wife and I look forward to making the trip down each year and have been doing so since the 90’s. We’ve made some great friends along the way and the hospitality from clubs like Springwood is second to none”.

This is Parkers third win in 2017 on the Ladbrokes PGA Legends Tour, having claimed wins in New Zealand earlier in the year.

The Ladbrokes PGA Legends Tour moves further up the mountain on Friday, with players now on course at Blackheath Golf Club.
