After a month off Wade Ormsby returns this week to the site of one of his best finishes in what turned out to be a career year in 2014.
The South Australian kickstarted his 2014 campaign with a T5 finish at the Trophee Hassan tournament in Morocco and will be looking to repeat the dose in 2015.
With six starts already under his belt for the season it’s been a mixed bag for Ormsby with one missed cut and one top 10 to go with a series of mid-field finishes.
The 33-year-old has only good memories to draw on at the Golf du Palais Royal this week as last year was his first appearance at the event.
Ormsby is joined in the field by Tour rookies Scott Hend and Jason Scrivener and veteran Richard Green.
Hend and Scrivener play the event for the first time while Green has two mid field finishes to show for his three previous starts.
Like Ormsby Hend tees up fresh from a month long break and in his six starts so far this year has proved comfortable with being a 43-year-old rookie.
While he has missed two cuts he also put in good performances in Malaysia (T14) and Thailand (T2) which have him 28th on the Race to Dubai standings and well in sight of retaining his card for 2016.
Scrivener will be keen to play this week after making a solid start in the cancelled Madeira islands Open last week.
The West Australian shot a 1-under-par 71 to be only three shots behind the leader in the only round played before the tournament was called off.
Scrivener has made the cut in two of the three events he has played in his rookie season so far and his schedule is now likely to increase with the Middle East and South African swings of the tour completed.
