The new Web.com Tour event will be played on the recently completed TPC Cartagena course, the latest move in a strong push by the PGA TOUR to increase their presence in South America.

The Web.com Tour has already played two events in South America in 2015 with another two to be played in Brazil and Chile before the Tour returns to the US mainland.

Mathew Goggin, currently second on the money list thanks to his win at the season opening tournament in Panama, heads a strong Australian contingent this week.

Steve Allan, Adam Crawford, Rhein Gibson, Oliver Goss, Ash Hall, Bronson La’Cassie, Bryden Macpherson, James Nitties, Alistair Presnell, Brett Drewitt and Aron Price are all in the field.

Though only the third event of the season players already have an eye on the all important top-25 on the money list who will earn automatic cards for the 2016 PGA TOUR.

Rod Pampling (16) and Rhein Gibson (19) join Goggin in that list as of this week with Oliver Goss (T31) and Ash Hall (T36) also hovering.
