Jason Norris saved his best till last at the OneAsia tour’s GS Caltex Maekyung Open firing a 2-under-par 69 Sunday to make his way into the top-15.
Norris returned scores of 72-71-72-69 for a four round total of even par, eight behind winner Seehang Lee of Korea but best of the Australasians by three shots.
New Zealand’s Gareth Paddison joined Western Australia’s Michel Sim at 3-over for the week and T24, the pair four ahead of Matt Guyatt and Michael Long.
Amateur Shae Wools Cobb and Victorian Jack Wilson were the last Australasians to make the cut, Wools Cobb finishing 11-over and T61 and Wilson one further back and T65.
Paddison was well in the mix through the first two rounds after opening with rounds of 69-67 to be T5 but a disastrous Saturday 79 saw him freefall down the standings.
Among the 12 Australasians to miss the weekend were veterans David McKenzie and David Smail as well as Vic Open winner Dimi Papadatos and Asian Tour Q School graduate Jake Higginbottom.
