Morning field day two – a broken round

After an early rise for the majority of the morning field for round two, the scores are in with some familiar names in healthy positions on the leader board.

After an early rise for the majority of the morning field for round two, the scores are in with some familiar names in healthy positions on the leader board.

""Recent BetEasy Masters winner Nick Cullen has continued form shooting rounds of 68 and 71 to finish 5-under the card at the half way mark.

Finishing his first round at just 7am, then turning around to be back on the tee within the hour Cullen was pleased with his 36 hole position.

"It wasn’t the easiest two days, the delays and getting up really early this morning and finishing the round was a bit tricky," said Cullen.

"The course is really wet, bunkers are really tough out there, a lot of them are flooded."

"So very happy to be 5-under, in the clubhouse and have a nice afternoon off."

Another familiar name sitting in striking position over the weekend is Victorian Marc Leishman who is a shot back on 4-under the card.

"We played a fair few holes without too much wind, which was nice," said Leishman.

"I played good without anything great; made a few silly little mistakes with wedge or 9-iron in my hand that probably were birdie opportunities, and made bogey."

"It was pretty amazing that we even got out there to be honest with the weather last night, what the ground staff did, they did a great job."

"The bunkers were true hazards today but it was impressive that they were even playable."

Whilst Leishman and Cullen moved up the leaderboard, it wasn’t so for overnight leader Jin Jeong who carded 2-over par 74.

After the second round however Jeong is still in a healthy position at 5-under and equal fourth position.
