South Australians Max McCardle and Brad Moules have won the Buildlogix Coppercoast Pro-Am at Copperclub The Dunes in Port Hughes with rounds of 5-under 67.
A home state advantage aided the pair’s run as both looked strong throughout the day, their final scores two shots ahead of the next best player.
McCardle’s efforts saw him take back-to-back victories at the Copperclub course after also shooting 67 at the 2018 tournament to feature in a four-way tie.
Young Victorian Will Heffernan took advantage of the benign early morning conditions to post a 3-under 69 to hold the clubhouse lead.
The course was in perfect condition and surprisingly, the usual afternoon wind stayed away opening the door to excellent afternoon scoring.
Heffernan’s efforts saw him finish in a tie for third place alongside Campbell Rawson, Peter Cooke and Simon Pope who also posted scores of 3-under 69.
The Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series now moves to The Vines GC of Reynella on Monday for the final tournament of the SA swing, the Air Diffusion Agencies Pro-Am.
