The Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series Sunshine Swing headed to Twin Waters for the annual Club Car Twin Waters Pro-Am which saw Max McCardle and Steven Jeffress prove victorious.
The Twin Waters Pro-Am has a champion’s board that includes the likes of Anthony Gilligan and Jason Norris, with 60 professionals teeing it up today as they look to add their name to that illustrious list.
Firing 5-under 67, Max McCardle and Steven Jeffress were joint winners, with a further four players including R.J Caracella, Marcus Cain, Andrew Martin and Charles a further shot back in third.
This is the second time Jeffress has won the Twin Waters Pro-Am, previously winning in 2012.
"The condition of the Twin Waters Golf Club is right up there with the best we play all year," said Jeffress.
"It’s not only a treat for the professionals to play on, but the 60 amateurs that also competed."
"My game was solid out there today without being outstanding, but I made the putts where needed to keep my momentum going."
"It’s great to win again here at Twin Waters, especially on a course that has played host to some of the best professionals in Australia over the past 23 years."
Professionals will remain on the Sunshine Coast, with the inaugural Maroochy River Pro-Am teeing off on Thursday. Although it’s their inaugural event, the club is all too familiar with pro-ams, with their old course at Horton Park playing host to the professionals for almost three decades.
