Brody Martin, Trainee from the Marangaroo Golf Club in
Western Australia, has taken the outright lead by two strokes at 6-under par
after the second round of the PGA Southern Division Trainee Championships at
the Tocumwal Golf Club.
He followed his 69 yesterday with another 69 today on a
windy and tricky day around the Captains course which saw only eight players under
par.
His closest pursuer is Adam Burdett from the Yarrawonga
& Mulwala Golf Resort who shot the best round of the day – a 5-under 67
which leaves him at 3-under for the tournament.
Tied third on a total of 2-under par is Aaron Coates (Vic),
Travis Lord (WA), Zak Fuller (SA) and overnight leader Joshua Stewart (Qld).
There are 10 players at par or better so the Championship is still wide open.
The cut fell at 6-over the card with 51 players surviving to
pay the final two rounds.
Tomorrow’s third round on the Presidents course tees off at
8.26am with the leaders starting at 9.30am.
