Bryden Macpherson has picked up where he left off with a runner-up finish on the new look China Golf Tour.

With the PGA TOUR no longer involved in the circuit, the China Golf Association has taken over running the Tour and the first event of the year was played at the St Andrews Henan Open this past week.

Macpherson, who blitzed the PGA TOUR China in 2015 to earn his Web.com Tour card for 2016, continued his love affair with the nation firing a final round 67 to jump into a share of second.

The former British Amateur winner was one of 10 Australians in the field this week, Deyen Lawson also playing some impressive golf in finishing sixth.

Christopher Wood (T9), Taylor Cooper (T28), Maverick Antcliff (T35), Jack Munro and Jake Stirling (T53) were the other Australians to make the cut.

James Gibellini, Peter Martin and Jichul Jung all missed the weekend.
