Positioned to take off towards a maiden Champions Tour title, West Australian Stephen Leaney struggled to get off the ground on the final day of the Boeing Classic in Washington.

"StephenBrandt Jobe came from seven shots back to win by three shots courtesy of a sublime 9-under 63 that included seven birdies on the front nine alone, Leaney eight shots further back in a tie for seventh.

His third top 10 in nine starts on the US seniors tour, Leaney began the final round in a tie for fourth, making a move in the right direction with a birdie at the first hole of his final round.

But that would be his only sub-par score of the day, 16 pars and a bogey at the par-3 13th when he was unable to get up and down from the rough resulting in an even-par 72 and a move from 58th to 51st in the Charles Schwab Cup.

A bogey-free final round of 68 propelled Victorian David McKenzie up the leaderboard on the final day, climbing 20 spots to finish tied for 25th and maintain his position at 46th in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
