Deyen Lawson has won the 2020 MI Organics Yamba Pro-Am by one stroke over Chris Wood following two days of spectacular golf at Yamba Golf & Country Club.
Lawson began the second and final round two shots back from overnight leader Dimi Papadatos following an opening round of 69.
The groundwork had been set, however, for the European Tour player to take advantage of stunning conditions on Sunday to win with a final score of 7-under 137.
“I hit the ball good today and I could have had anything,” said Lawson, who finished tied for third at the Tailor-Made Building Services NT PGA Championship the weekend prior.
“I missed a few short putts but thankfully it didn’t cost me the win.”
A solid opening round of 68 saw Queenslander Chris Wood begin the final round just one shot off the lead. A score of 70 across the last 18 holes helping Wood to claim outright second place at 6-under 138.
Andrew Evans carded the low round of the day in round two, a 7-under 65 to shoot up the leaderboard to finish in a share of second place alongside Damien Jordan at 5-under.
Overnight leader Dimi Papadatos finished with a round of 2-over 74 to finish in a tie for eighth place.
The PGA Pro-Am Series now moves to Murwillumbah Golf Club for the Murwillumbah Coca-Cola Pro-Am on 5 November.
