Jacobson made the most of the slightly easier morning conditions, posting a 2-under 68 to hold the clubhouse lead.

While conditions deteriorated for the afternoon field, it was current MLC Advice Nundah Order of Merit leader Tim Hart who defied the rainy conditions to join Jacobson at the top of the leaderboard.

This is Jacobson’s first win on the Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series Sunshine Swing and he was excited to have finally removed the monkey from his back.

"I was starting to wonder when this day would come, so it’s timely that I would win here today alongside my good mate Tim," said Jacobson.

"I was a little disappointed when I had a chance to win at Redland Bay a couple of weeks ago, but that is now a past memory and I will look to draw on the positives from my win heading into the Casino Pro-Am on Monday."

Previous winners of the Lismore Pro-Am include current Asian Tour member and Lismore local Sam Brazel, along with Web.com Tour regular, Alistair Presnell.

Professionals will now move onto the second pro-am of the Northern Rivers swing, with the $11,000 Casino Pro-Am teeing off on Monday.
