Holman flawless in Malaysia

Australian PGA Champion Nathan Holman is once again on top
of the European Tour leaderboard thanks to a flawless first round in Malaysia.

"NathanFiring 7-under 64, Holman leads the inaugural Maybank
Championship by just one shot from six players.

Thanks to a hot putter Holman needed just 27 putts to
negotiate the Royal Selangor layout where on 9 holes he required just one
stroke with the flat stick.

"I just played really well to be honest. Every part of
my game was quite good.," said Holman.

"I was saying a few weeks ago that my game has been
trending in that right direction so it was nice to get a really good one in."

But even when things weren’t quite going the 24-year-old
Melbournians way he remained calm under pressure getting up and down on four
holes to remain bogey free for the round.

"There’re a lot of chances but if
you get in the rough, it can really grab you. So 7-under, I’m really happy with
that."

Finding the course to his liking Holman is hoping to
retain his consistency to be in contention come Sunday.

"It (the course) suits my eye. I quite like the look of it
and obviously that’s shown through with the score I had today so I’m looking
forward to playing the next three days," added Holman.

"I’m playing fairly consistently and consistently getting
better which is another good thing."

If Holman is going to win his second European Tour title he
will need to overcome the inform Danny Willett, Angelo Que, Jorge Campillo,
Alexander Levy, Peter Uihlein and Tommy Fleetwood who are all just one shot
behind him after the first round.
