New Zealand’s Harry Bateman will tee off as leader in the final round of the Isuzu Queensland Open with a two shot advantage over West Australian Oliver Goss and New South Welshman Troy Moses.

Bateman went quietly about his business in the heat at The Brisbane Golf Club this week, posting scores of 67, 70 and 5-under 66 today to be 10-under the card.

After a missed cut here last year, Bateman said he was surprised to find himself on top of the leaderboard after three conservative rounds.

His round of 5-under could’ve been a little higher had it not been for some clutch putting on the back-9.

“My ball striking was a little bit off today, it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t quite there, but I made a lot of putts” Bateman said.

“I holed a couple of good putts; I had a decent 29 footer on 9 for birdie and about a 30 foot putt for par on 13.”

His two shot lead on the field won’t change what has worked so far in the opening three rounds.

“My game plan was pretty conservative today so I’ll probably just stick to exactly what I’ve been doing,”

West Australian Oliver Goss also shot 5-under 66 to be 8-under the card, setting himself up for a charge at the T.B. Hunter Cup.

“The game plan has been the same as it was every day, it hasn’t changed one bit,” Goss said.

“The wind has changed slightly but I’m still hitting the same clubs off the tee and trying to hit it in the same spots.

“I managed to get going early, one blemish on the card that I picked up but one bogey and six birdies, I can’t really complain about that.”

Troy Moses joins Goss in a tie for second after his round of 2-under 69, quickly putting behind him a double bogey on the 13^th with two birdies on the run home.

“Again I really hung in there and was slowly building in to a round, I hit a really bad shot on 13 where I made double but managed to bounce back instantly and have birdie on the next,” Moses said.

“I’m doing some good stuff, today was really close to being a good day so I guess we’ll see come that back-9 tomorrow what needs to happen.”

Leading after two rounds, Michael Sim had an up and down round three, he picked up three birdies at the turn to finish even par and fourth on 7-under.

Ryan Lynch, Tim Hart and Ben Clementson are tied for fifth on 4-under while Andrew Evans, Ewan Porter, James Marchesani, Kieran Muir, Damien Jordan, Kade McBride and Max McCardle are tied for eighth.

The fourth and final round of the Isuzu Queensland Open tees off at 8:50am with lead group of Harry Bateman, Oliver Goss and Troy Moses teeing off the 1^st at 10:30am.
