Victorian Richard Green comes in to this week’s ISPS HANDA World Super 6 Perth in a rich vein of form and a long memory.

Green lost his European Tour card at the 11^th hour last year, finishing just one spot shy of the total career European Tour earnings rank exemption.

He was in 39^th spot and safe for the 2017 season until Alex Noren won the Nedbank Challenge and bumped Green down to 41^st position and out of the top-40 cut.

Green finished tied for fourth after the Oates Vic Open last week and is confident he can carry his strong play in to Lake Karrinyup this week and be a feature in the match play format of the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 Perth.

The possibility of a match-up with Noren is something Green would relish after the World Number 11 bumped him off the European Tour for 2017.

“I might have a little chat with him!” Green joked.

“It’s certainly a possibility we’ll meet in the match play, I’ve started to play really well of late, obviously my Asian Q-School performance was good, my golf was good at the Vic Open and if conditions had been better in Dubai I would’ve done alright there too.

“So my form is good, I’ve got a chance of being there at the end.”

Green said Noren is the obvious danger in the tri-sanctioned event but expects the Swede will need to adjust for the Australian conditions and Lake Karrinyup’s course.

“Alex is obviously one of the guys to beat these days but Australian conditions are different to European conditions.

“He’s a guy that hits it left to right predominately and this course needs a right to left, he could play very well but from what iv’e seen of his game that will be a battle for him.”

A supporter of new initiatives in golf, Green is excited to see where the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 Perth and events of its kind can take the sport in years to come.

“I think the direction golf is taking is very much keeping up with the modern times, some of the ideas have been good and certainly lifted the profile of the respective tours.

“I’m looking forward to it, there’s a chance I could sneak in to the career top-40 earnings by playing well in Perth so I’ll have that in the back of my mind.”
