Veteran
left hander Richard Green has lifted himself within touching distance of
keeping his card for next season with another resurgent performance in Germany
at the weekend.

"RichardThe
45-year-old posted rounds of 67-68-66 in the rain shortened tournament to be T13
and climb to 111th on the Race to Dubai, the top 110 assured of
playing rights next season.

It’s been
an impressive fightback from Green after a poor start to the season which had
him in danger of losing full status at the end of the year.

A run of
seven missed cuts in 10 starts between February and July had Green in a rut but
he began to turn things around with some inspired golf at the Paul Lawrie
Matchplay tournament the week after The Open.

While still
far from his best, Green has battled to produce three top 20 finishes to lift
himself up the standings and with renewed confidence heading to the final
stretch of the season seems likely to go on with the job.

Green was
one of five Australians to tee up at the Porsche European Open but only he and
Western Australia’s Jason Scrivener survived the 36 hole cut.

Scrivener,
who holds down 107th place on the Race to Dubai table, also produced
some good golf this week to finish just one shot behind Green and T20.

The 27-year-old
came agonisingly close to keeping his status at the end of his rookie season
in 2015 and having survived a successful trip back to the Q-School for the 2016
schedule will be keen to avoid a repeat.

While Green
and Scrivener both produced under difficult circumstances in Germany Andrew
Dodt, Brett Rumford and Scott Hend all found the going tough as weather
interrupted the first two days of the event.

All three
missed the cut, Rumford now outside the top 110 in the Race to Dubai standings
and needing a big finish to the year.
