Oliver Goss’ dream of joining the PGA TOUR remains alive after the 21-year-old clung to 74th position on the Web.com Tour money list and booked a place in the upcoming Finals series where cards will be decided for 2016.

""Goss endured a nervous final day at the Winco Foods Portland Open, the final full field event of the season, where he opened with rounds of 68-67 to be projected comfortably inside the top-75 heading to the weekend.

But a third round 74 dropped Goss back to a share of 28th in the tournament and needing a decent round Sunday to advance, the West Australian producing under the pressure with an even par 71.

He will now join Steve Allan (31), Rhein Gibson (33) and Mathew Goggin (34) in the four tournament series to decide the last 25 cards for the PGA TOUR for 2016.

The first 25 have already been won by the top-25 finishers on the Web.com money list, Rod Pampling among that number with the 17th highest earnings for the year.

Those who have already earned a card will still tee up in the Finals as they try to improve their ranking category.

While Goss, Allan, Gibson and Goggin are still alive in the race for a card the season is officially over for several Australians, some now facing a return to the Q-School just to get back to the secondary Tour.

Bronson La’Cassie (89th), Brett Drewitt (93rd) and Aron Price (100th) will retain Web.com playing privileges for next year after finishing top 100 but Bryden Macpherson, Adam Crawford, Alistair Presnell, Ash Hall, Nick Flanagan and James Nitties will need to go to the Q-School if they are to tee up again next year.

Also playing the upcoming Finals series will be several Australians who finished 126-200 on the PGA TOUR’s FedEx Cup points list.

Cameron Percy (150), Aaron Baddeley (157), Greg Chalmers (172) and Robert Allenby (187) will all be part of the Finals series while Geoff Ogilvy (154) won’t tee up as his exemption for winning the 2014 Barracuda Championship has another year to run.

The Finals begins in two weeks’ time with the Hotel Fitness Championship in Indiana and culminates with the Web.com Tour Championship at TPC Sawgrass in the first week of October.

The Q-School is played in December.
