New Zealand’s Josh Geary is in fine form and aiming to win the BMW NZ Open which tees off at The Hills and Millbrook Resort tomorrow.

"JoshComing into the tournament fresh from a second place finish
at the NZ PGA Championship, Geary is the inform Kiwi this week.

The 30-year-old has the hopes of a nation pinned on him to
be the first New Zealand player to win the BMW NZ Open since Mahal Pearce in
2003.

"It’s been 12 or 13 years now and we are definitely due for
one (a win)," said Geary.

"It does put a bit of pressure on, but I like that, I
usually rise to the occasion."

"I am feeling good, I love it down here and I have been
playing well so it’s all shaping up nicely for a good week."

Geary is taking it all in his stride, it’s business as usual
as he prepares to tee off tomorrow.

"You can’t change your routines too much. I had a practice
round at Millbrook yesterday and one today at The Hills," added Geary who was
impressed by Greg Turner’s re-developed holes at Millbrook Resort.

"That new nine looks a bit tougher, the rough is up and
quite thick. It looks great; the course is in great nick."

While Geary is hoping he takes out the title, there is one
thing he and the other New Zealand players  Ryan Fox, Michael Hendry and Mark Brown all agree
on, they want a Kiwi name on the trophy.

"I came as a kid watching this tournament 20 years ago and
at the time I never even dreamt of playing it let alone winning it," added
Geary.

"I have been close a few times so it would be unbelievable
to get my first major win at the NZ Open."

"If it isn’t me who wins it would be great to see another
Kiwi win."

"I think all the boys think that way, we are sick of the
Australians coming over here and stealing our trophies."

"We haven’t really spoken about it but we are all thinking
it."
