Despite a disappointing final round to fall out of the top-10 Peter Fowler was once again the pick of the Australians at the European Senior Tour’s Travis Perkins Masters in England.
The evergreen Fowler teed off in the final round at Woburn Golf Club in a share of eighth but on a difficult scoring day finished with an uncharacteristic run of three straight bogies to tumble down the leader board.
While the cheque for finishing T11 keeps him in third place on the Order of Merit Fowler, who has won twice this season, will be less than pleased with his finish.
He was 2-under for the day through 11 holes and within touching distance of the leaders but his four dropped shots in the last five holes were fatal.
Peter O’Malley was next best of the Australians at T23 with Mike Harwood (T30), Noel Ratcliffe (T64) and Tim Elliott (T68) the others in the field.
