After a brilliant start to the European Senior Tour season Peter Fowler is the man to beat at this week’s ISPS Handa Senior PGA Championship in England.
The 56-year-old has a win and a runner-up
finish to his name through two events of 2015 and will be among the favourites
again this week when the Tour heads to Newcastle.
The Senior PGA Championship is one of the
longest running and most prestigious events on the Senior Tour schedule and
Fowler will undoubtedly be keen to add it to his already impressive resume.
With four wins in his five years on the
over-50’s circuit Fowler is proving a force to be reckoned with in Europe and
looks to be in as good a form at the moment as at any time in his career.
Mike Harwood, Glenn Joyner, Noel Ratcliffe,
Terry Price and Tim Elliott are also in this week’s field for a tournament that
will be played at the Lee Westood Course at Close House in England’s North. The
venue is somewhat an unknown quantity having not hosted a Professional event
previously.
