Tim Elliot has made it back-to-back wins this week after shooting a second round score of 2-under 70 to finish on top of the leaderboard at this year’s Caloundra City Realty Pelican Waters Legends Pro-Am.
The event saw 67 Professionals
compete for the biggest prize purse on the Queensland swing of the E-Z-GO PGA
Legends Tour. The $25,000 purse attracted not only local players but also those
from interstate and across the Tasman.
Two shots behind after the
first round Elliot was in a strong position going into the round two.
Having a score of 2-under 70
in the first round in blustery conditions Elliot continued his solid form into
the second round.
"I thought I had the chance
to be able to win if I could keep the same form as my first round," said
Elliot.
"I had a lot of confidence
after my performances this week so it was a matter of giving myself every
opportunity and making each hole count."
First round leader Lucien
Tinkler carded a 1-over 73 which saw him finish third overall with a 2-under the
card enough to earn Michael Barry another runner-up finish in what is an
impressive rookie season on the E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour.
This was Elliot’s second win
this week after he was also victorious at the Carbrook Legends Pro-Am held on
Tuesday.
The QLD Swing now heads west for a week in the rural
communities of Jandowae, Toowoomba, Dalby and Millmerran.
