Well placed ahead of next week’s Masters, Day is showing immense readiness in the lead up to golf’s biggest tournament of the year.

Speaking with the PGA of Australia, Day reaffirmed his passion to acquire the World Number 1 title and his focus ahead of the tournament.

"10, 15 years ago I was really just watching what was happening at Augusta and to be one of the favourites going in to The Masters is pretty neat," said Day.

"I had kind of a disappointing year last year with my injuries, played ok, played pretty good golf,"

"For me to be healthy, fit, really focused on trying to get better with my body and trying to get better as a player, I feel a lot more confident in my abilities,"

"My game plan is working and I just want it more than anyone else."

"I want to perform the best I can in a weeks time," added Day.

Greg Norman has made no secret of his confidence in the World Number 5 leading up to the Masters.

"Jason’s playing extremely well, he’s primed, he’s fresh and ready to go" said Norman.

"He’s got the game, he’s got the capabilities to do it; whether it happens for him, we’ll see.

"He has openly said that he wants to be the No. 1 player in the world and to do that you have to win Major championships."

With his focus surrounding an event that is close to his heart, Day was humbled by the former Major champions comments.

"It’s pretty amazing to be in the sentence coming from a person like," said Day.

"It’s a great compliment."

Day started the 2015 PGA TOUR season with a bang securing victory at the Farmers Insurance Open in a two hole playoff giving him his third PGA TOUR title.

Consecutive bogeys in the final round at the 2013 Master cost Day the chance to secure his first Major win putting him out of a playoff between Angel Cabrera and fellow Aussie, Adam Scott.

The 2015 Masters will get underway Thursday 9 April at Augusta National.

The Masters Tournament will be broadcast live free to air through the seven network and on pay tv through Fox Sports.
