Jason Day recorded his first under par round of the 2016
Masters and is ready to strike in the final round.
The World Number 1 fired 1-under 71 in the third round to be tied 5th on even par and just three shots off leader Jordan Spieth.
Day played alongside the first ever World Number 1, Bernhard Langer, the pair delighting the crowds at Augusta National.
The highlight of their rounds came at the par-4 14th where Day sunk a 21 metre putt to record back-to-back birdies while Langer had the crowd cheering when he chipped in for birdie.
58-year-old Langer sang the praises of Day after he out scored him in the third round shooting 2-under 70.
"It was fun being out there with Jason Day. He’s a wonderful young man and I enjoyed his company," said Langer who is tied 3rd with Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama.
"He’s a phenomenal golfer, hits the ball a ton. I’ve seldom seen somebody putt as well as he has today, so that was fun watching."
Adam Scott and Cameron Smith were the other Australians to make the cut but didn’t fare as well on course today.
Scott recorded a 3-over 75 to now be tied 34th on 7-over the card after three rounds.
Meanwhile Smith racked up 10-over the card today to be tied 53rd on 13-over.
