Davis relishes home pro-am opportunity

Cameron Davis has made the most of paying a pro-am on home soil with a win at the WRI Pro-Am at Ryde Parramatta Golf Club.

The 2017 Australian Open champion took a three-shot victory with a round of 6-under 65 over a competitive Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series field.

Following a competitive showing at last week’s Australian Open, Davis was pleased to fit in more golf in his home country ahead of next week’s Australian PGA Championship on the Gold Coast.

“I haven’t been in Australia too much this year but it’s nice to be home and playing at a course that I remember playing as a kid in pennants not too many years ago,” Davis said.

“I’ve had a fun day and would like to thank everyone involved in the event.”

Pro-Am Series regulars Jordan Zunic and Tim Stewart tied for second place at 3-under the card, ahead of Scott Barr, Andrew Campbell and Taylor Cooper at 1-under.

2004 Australian Masters champion Richard Green featured at the pointy end alongside Martin Dive, Adam Groom and Anthony Summers at even-par in a tie for seventh.

The WRI Pro-Am was the final NSW/ACT Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series event of the season.
