West Australian PGA Trainee Conor Brown was the only player to shoot under par in a field of 39 to take out the WA PGA Trainee Championship presented by ADH Club Car by a massive eight shots.
Nedlands Golf Club, the former host of Australasian Tour event, the Nedlands Masters, the course looked to have the upper hand through the opening two rounds one with only Victoria’s Correy Price making par in the first 36 holes.
Brown hit a hot streak over the final two rounds hitting 2-under 70 in both to become the only player to shoot under par in the tournament and finish 1-over to claim the $20,000 event.
His name joins illustrious winners such as Ross Metherell, Graham Johnson and more recently Brody Martin etched on to the WA PGA Trainee Championship trophy.
“I’m very happy with this win as it was a goal of mine at the start of the year. Thanks to Nedlands Golf Club and all involved for an awesome week.” said Sun City’s Brown.
In a tie for second on 9-over was Correy Price and Andrew MacAuslan, Tristan Geerlings held fourth on 13-over while Samuel Masters and Ethan Andrews round out the top-5 on 15-over.
