Bransdon hot with the flat stick

David Bransdon has a two shot buffer heading into the final round of the Isuzu Queensland Open and it’s all thanks to a hot putter.

"DavidBransdon fired a 5-under 67 in the third round courtesy of his putts starting to drop.

"It was basically no different to the other two days but I kept the short missed putts off the card and the big numbers so that was the only difference really, I putted much better," said Bransdon.

Having time to kill after his second round as he waited for his travelling partners Aaron Townsend and Matt Millar to finish their round, Bransdon spent his time on the practice putting green.

"I had to wait for the guys I was staying with yesterday for about 40-45 minutes and that’s all I did, practice inside 10 feet, because that’s the putts that I am struggling with at the moment,"

"So I just practiced those until the boys came in. I was rolling a few on the green and it continued today."

Bransdon owes a lot to his mate Millar who over the years has given him plenty of help with his putting and this week his chipping as well.

"He’s always helped me with my short game because his short game is so good. We are always helping each other and hoping each other does well," added Bransdon.

"He has helped me with my chipping this week so that’s always a bonus from Rug (Millar)."

While his practice paid divided ends on the course it also paid off in the putting competition, he took out the fun challenge nailing two 20 feet putts after his round.

Now playing the final round Bransdon will be hoping his hot streak with the flat stick continues to see him claim the Isuzu Queensland Open title.
