Steven Bowditch continues the good form which saw him claim his second PGA TOUR title five weeks ago, the Queenslander finishing top Australian at the Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia.
Bowditch, who earned a spot at The Open with
a T15 finish at last week’s Travelers Championship, was inside the top-15 again
this week after four good rounds.
Scores of 68-68-67-67 saw Bowditch finish
10-under for the week, just three shots out of a playoff and in a share of 13th.
He was one of only two Australians to make
the cut, Cameron Percy also impressive until a final round 73.
With scoring hot all week at the Old White
TPC course that 3-over round was always going to be costly and Percy fell from
a share of 17th all the way to 60th.
He remains outside the top-125 on the FedEx
Cup standings though has shown flashes of good form over the past month and
will have some confidence heading into the final part of the year.
Marc Leishman, Aaron Baddeley and Greg
Chalmers all missed the cut while Robert Allenby withdrew after nine holes of
the second round citing a sciatic nerve issue.
