Victorian Rory Bourke has claimed his first win on the WA swing of the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series, finishing on top of the leaderboard with a round of 4-under 66 at the St John Brooks Pro-Am.
Bourke’s round was the best of the day by two shots at the par-70 Gosnells Golf Club where he finished clear of six players tied for second place.
After turning professional in 2012, Bourke emphasised the challenges golf professionals face along the journey and how much a win means when it comes along.
“Tour life is hard, there are more lows than highs but when you do finally get a taste of the highs again and have a win, it makes it all worthwhile,” said Bourke.
“I played great today and look forward to hopefully continuing this form down south.”
Scott Strange, Braden Becker, Andrew Martin, recent pro-am winners Peter Wilson and Brady Watt, as well as club local Jarryd Felton, all shot rounds of 2-under 68 for second place.
Brody Martin, Rick Kulacz, Michael Choi, and Daniel Fox also recorded rounds under par to tie for eighth.
Gosnells Golf Club played host to the last event in the city before players will head regional for the WA Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series.
The Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series WA swing now heads to beautiful parts of the south-west, starting at the British Sausage Ham & Bacon Busselton Pro-Am.
