Bland’s good year continues


Adam Bland has held his place in the top-five of the Japan Tour Order of Merit courtesy of a top-20 finish at this week’s Sega Sammy Cup.

Adam Bland has held his place in the top-five of the Japan Tour Order of Merit courtesy of a top-20 finish at this week’s Sega Sammy Cup.

"AdamBland, who won his first title on the Tour
at the Japan PGA in May, has amassed more than AU$360,000 this year and
currently sits fourth on the list.

The South Australian was top Australian at
this week’s event, his 8-under-par total good enough for a T17 result, one shot
ahead of Kurt Barnes in T21.

Brad Kennedy, who also finished at
7-under-par, was a model of consistency with rounds of 71-71-71-68 and is T11
on the Order of Merit after some excellent golf for the year including two
runner-up finishes.

Matthew Griffin posted the best finish of
his rookie season at 6-under for the week and T29 while Matthew Guyatt was a
further shot back and T41.

Brendan Jones (T52) and Peter Wilson (T62)
were the only other Australasians to make the cut, Michael Hendry, Steve
Conran, Won Joon Lee, Scott Strange and David Smail all missing the weekend.
