Arnold stalking Euro card

A refreshed Scott Arnold will be back in action at the Challenge Tour’s Foshan Open in China this week as he tries to move 10 places up the Order of Merit and earn promotion to the European Tour next year.

""Arnold presently sits 25th in the standings after posting his first Challenge Tour victory last month but, with only two events left on the schedule, needs to be in the top-15 to automatically graduate.

The 29-year-old likely needs to earn in the order of €35,000 to achieve the goal and having finished T6 in his only appearance at this event two years ago will take some confidence into the week.

Arnold is one of two Australasians teeing up in China, New Zealand’s Ryan Fox also in the field though his card for next year looks assured.

Fox is 10th on the Order of Merit after a victory and four top-10 finishes for the season but would like to post a high finish this week to guarantee he will advance.

A T3 result in difficult conditions at last week’s Fiji International will have given him some confidence, his final round 67 at Natadola Bay one of the best of the day.
