Robert Allenby found some much needed form at the Web.com Tour’s Air Capital Classic in Wichita, an 8-under weekend helping the Victorian to a top 20 finish.
After missing four of his last five cuts, the result was a welcome confidence boost for Allenby who has now moved inside the top 100 on the secondary tour money list.
At 10-under for the week Allenby was the best of the seven Australians in the field, Brett Drewitt one shot further back and T27 after a final round 70.
Drewitt, playing his rookie season on the PGA TOUR, made just his second appearance on the Web.com Tour in 2017 and was T10 through three rounds.
But in a low scoring event he dropped three shots over the opening nine holes and eventually signed for an even par score to fall 17 places down the standings.
Steve Allan also moved the wrong direction Sunday with a 2-over 72 to fall 29 places to T67 at 3-under, the same score as Jamie Arnold and Peter Lonard.
Rhein Gibosn and Mark Hensby were the two Australians who missed the cut.
