Players from Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific will be hopeful of a strong start when the season kicks off at the Fuso Trucks and Buses Legends Pro-Am at Cromer Golf Club Tuesday followed by the David Mercer Seniors Classic Pro-Am at Killara golf club which has become one of the richest Pro-Am events in Australia.
The $50,000AUD purse will see the likes of Roger Davis, Wayne Grady, Peter Fowler and 2014 E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour Order of Merit Winner Tim Elliot play alongside local amateurs.
Elliot will again be a red hot favourite to defend his season title after a consistent 2014 season.
"I played well early on last year but didn’t finish as strong…hopefully I can manage another good start this year and can keep things going in the same direction" said Elliot.
The Victorian says the Legends Tour has become a great national tour with big names playing every week.
"We are all very competitive but most importantly we are all out here enjoying the experience and able to help golf clubs deliver a great event and ultimately grow the game" added Elliot.
Recent graduates of the 2015 Legends Tour Qualifying school including winner Guy Wall will also be in the mix this week in Sydney.
"I am excited to be a part of the action this week and excited to play with these great players like Roger (Davis) and Terry (Price)" said Wall.
Play begins on Tuesday morning at Cromer Golf club at 7:30am with a shotgun start followed by an afternoon shotgun at 1:00pm.
