Victorian Adam Burdett and New Zealand’s Mat Perry have tied at the top of the leaderboard in stunning conditions at the AAMI Gisborne Pro-Am.
Played at Gisborne Golf Club in Victoria, both Perry and Burdett fired 7-under 65 among a strong field of 56 players.
“I managed to just keep my ball in play and under the hole for most of the day,” said Perry.
“The course was presented in great condition and I look forward to returning next year.”
Burdett, who will play in next week’s ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia, Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship presented by Toowoomba Regional Council, is happy to take a win into next week’s tournament.
“My round was a little up and down, but I managed to hit a 3 iron close at the last (the 11th hole) and holed my putt for an eagle,” said Burdett.
“I am pleased to take some form into the QLD PGA next week.”
Brady Wyatt finished in second place on 6-under the card, while in-form players Peter Wilson and Ryan Lynch tied fourth position at 5-under 67.
The Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series now moves to Tasmania for a nine day swing comprising of six events, starting with the Country Club Tasmania, SIW, IGA and Banjos Bakery Pro-Am on 21 February, 2019.
