An opening round of 13-under 59 at the Moranbah Mini Earthmovers Pro-Am has propelled Tim Hart to a six shot win in the Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series following a flawless performance at Moranbah Golf Club.
An opening round of 13-under 59 at the Moranbah Mini Earthmovers Pro-Am has propelled Tim Hart to a six shot win in the Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series following a flawless performance at Moranbah Golf Club.
Starting the day with a three-shot lead, Hart backed up his incredible opening scorecard with a bogey-free second round of 8-under for a tournament total of 123.
Hart dominated against tough competition on the Moranbah layout, taking advantage of long accurate precision driving to set up birdie opportunities.
“I played really well again today, I just didn’t hole as many putts,” joked Hart.
“I’ve been working very hard on my putting and mental game over the last few months and the last two days, everything has just come together perfectly.
“The golf course was in great condition and I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of playing Moranbah.”
Finishing in outright second place was experienced professional Steven Jeffress who fired a solid two rounds of 62, 67 for a tournament total of 15-under 129.
“I’m happy with the way I played and looking forward to the upcoming events,” said Jeffress.
“Tim Hart has played exceptional golf over the last two days and is a worthy winner.”
In third position was Adam Blyth on tournament total of 130 followed by Darren Beck and Brett Rankin a further shot back on 131 to round out the top five.
The Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series moves to Dysart Golf Club for the Onsite Rentals Dysart Pro-Am on Saturday 1 June, 2019.
