David Merriman has set the pace at Club Catalina shooting 4-under par 68 to lead the Catalina Legends Pro-Am by one shot from Peter Woodward on 69 with Ken Tarling well placed a further shot back on 70.

The Catalina layout is in exceptional condition, with the much anticipated recent rain making the testing tree-lined layout play to its full length

The early players were challenged with a cold and breezy start with 73 being the best of the morning field.

Merriman was over par early in his round before mixing 6 birdies with a further two dropped shots. The conditions will be similar for the final round, with many players still in contention for the title.
