Rookie Todd Sinnott is finding his feet as a Professional making his second cut in three European Tour starts at the weekend.
The big hitting Victorian finished in a share of 46th
at the co-sanctioned Tshwane Open after rounds of 71-69-69-71 to be even par
for the week.
Sinnott has received three consecutive European Tour invites
and is also listed in the field as an invite for this week’s Madeira Islands
Open.
He missed the cut in his first tournament at the Joburg Open
but has since showed steady improvement to finish in the money at both the
Africa Open and again in Pretoria at the weekend.
The 23-year-old has amassed more than €10,000 in earnings in
his three events to date.
Brett Rumford was the other Australian in the field at the
Tshwane Open and was in good form through two rounds before withdrawing with
illness.
Rumford opened with a 6-under-par 64 to be in a share of
third and despite struggling with a wayward driver in the second round scrapped
out an even par result to be in a share of 10th.
However, he didn’t take his place in the field for round
three after withdrawing with an unknown illness.
Rumford is showing signs of returning to form after a horror
year in 2014 and will be particularly disappointed with the forced withdrawal
when in contention for the first time in Europe for more than a year.
