Mike Harwood produced his best golf of the year to post his first top-10 of 2015 at the European Senior Tour’s Winston Golf Open in Germany.

The five time European Tour winner returned
rounds of 71-67-69 for a 9-under-par total and outright fifth place, seven
shots behind winner Pedro Linhart of Spain.

In form Australian Peter Fowler, already
twice a winner on the European Senior Tour this year, struggled to get going
for the week but found his form in the final round.

A Sunday 65 was bettered by only one player
on the day and lifted Fowler from mid-field to a share of 25^th at
3-under the card.

Peter O’Malley, playing just his second event
in the over-50’s, also found the going tough early in the week with an opening
round 77 all but sealing his fate.

The popular three time European Tour winner
turned things around on day two producing one of the rounds of the day, a
7-under 65 that catapulted him into the top-20.

A solid final round 70 saw O’Malley finish
next best Australian behind Harwood, his 4-under total good for T23.

Tim Elliott (T52), Terry Price (T58) and Noel
Ratcliffe (T70) were the other Australians in the field.
