The defending champion carded was 5-under 67 to lead by one shot ahead of Mike Harwood.
Price made the most of the conditions with two birdies on his front nine and kept the momentum going bogey free on the back nine with four birdies on his way back to the clubhouse.
"The course was in exceptional condition and has been a favourite of mine throughout my career" said Price.
"To defend the title here would be great and I’ve given myself every opportunity going into tomorrow."
As the last event on the QLD Swing of the E-Z-GO Legends Tour the Bargara Legends Pro-Am is a favourite for the players who enjoy the hospitality of the members and the beautiful location.
Past winner Rodger Davis along with 2014 Order of Merit winner Tim Elliot are also in the field.
Play will commence at 7.00am tomorrow with the leaders teeing off at midday.
