Scrivener marching up money list

Jason Scrivener is mounting a late charge to keep his European Tour card, the 26-year-old climbing 10 places on the Race to Dubai standings after his fourth top-20 in five starts at this week’s Italian Open.

"JasonAfter a difficult first half of the year
the West Australian European Tour rookie has found his feet in the past six
weeks reeling off 11 of 18 sub 70 rounds since the second last week of August.

With his third T14 finish in his last five
starts Scrivener is now 134th in the standings, the top-110
guaranteed playing rights for 2016.

A final round of 2-under-par 70 at the Golf
Club Milano was a disappointing finish for Scrivener who began the final round
in a share of 10th position.

On a low scoring day it was less than his
best golf but, a missed cut at the Czech Masters four weeks ago aside, there
has been nothing but positives for the talented Scrivener in recent weeks.

His run began with a T14 at the Made in
Denmark tournament before the missed cut in the Czech Republic but he has since
finished T14, T18 and T14 to collect more than half his €135,708 earnings for
the year in just four events.

With five full field events to be played
before the season ending Final Series gets underway Scrivener is a good chance
to keep his card if he can maintain his present form.

He was the best of the Australians in
Italy, three shots in front of Wade Ormsby who stumbled in the third round with
a 2-over 74.

While he followed that with a best of the
week 66 to climb 27 places up the leader board and finish T33 he will still be
annoyed with what was some clumsy Saturday play.

Ormsby is 90th in the Race to
Dubai standings and having less success this year than last but after missing
seven straight cuts between May and earlier this month he at least appears to
have righted the ship before season’s end.

The other three Australians in this week’s
field, Daniel Gaunt, Scott Hend and Marcus Fraser, all missed the 36 hole cut.
