At 10-under the card Lee was joined at the top of the leaderboard with his more experienced playing partner Jason Norris.

Norris agreed with Lee that today’s course set up did provide more of stern test however he managed to fire 3-under 69 to ensure his place in the lead group.

Playing in the afternoon field, Brett Rumford’s experience and class shone through as he posted a 5-under 67 to join the morning pair in the lead.

Key quotes:

Min Woo Lee (am), 64, 70, 10-under, T1

"The whole game I didn’t feel that good but I got it up and down when I needed to and holed a few more putts to make a few more birdies on the back-9. I finished up with 2-under so I am pretty happy."

"I was pretty aggressive yesterday and as soon as I got to the tee today I was aggressive as well. But I had to stop and calm myself down. I made a double on two which was silly."

"It was good but it was mentally tough today. The pins were tucked in so the scoring wasn’t that low but I am still happy with my round."

Jason Norris, 65, 69, 10-under, T1

"It was definitely a lot harder today, mainly because of the pins. The conditions were pretty good, it got a bit hot on the back-9, but the pins were really tough today."

"Being at the top end is always good, I feel like I played a lot better today. My wedges just let me down a lot, I didn’t get any birdies from my wedges, I made a couple of bogeys from them actually."

"I birdied the last couple of holes which is always nice. I was struggling a bit, I made a couple of soft bogeys with three putts after wedge shots in which is pretty poor but it’s always nice to finish well."

Daniel Nisbet, 65, 69, 10-under, T1

"There are a few of us up there now so it’s going to be an interesting day tomorrow. It looks like I won’t sneak into the last group so it will be good to chase a couple of birdies out there tomorrow."

"No bogeys, it’s a very rare occurrence for me to have no bogeys in a round of 18 so I am probably happiest about that."

"I think we have an aggressive nature out here and this is a course where you have to play really smart golf so it will catch a few people."

Brett Rumford, 67, 67, 10-under, T1

"I am very pleased. I’m not so happy with how the body is shaping up, I’m not sure if this is how everyone is feeling but I’m definitely feeling it today."

"I was feeling really tired on the back-9, I could feel my concentration was lapsing a little bit, but I’m really happy to finish 2-under in the last 3 holes, I dug really hard."

"I am just playing steady, just playing nice, not doing anything brilliant but the golf course allows you to think your way around. I am staying patient and just understanding there are plenty of birdie opportunities out there."
