An emotional Daniel Fox has claimed his first victory on Tour in front of a home crowd.
A journey man of Professional golf, a win has been a long
time coming for Fox who today broke through to win the Nexus Risk TSA Group WA
Open Championship.
Starting the day with a one shot lead, Fox watched it disappear
as he made bogeys on the third and sixth holes.
But with a new found confidence and mental toughness, Fox
put his foot down on the back-9 reeling off four birdies and a lone bogey.
Watching on as his competitors faltered, including amateur
Curtis Luck who bogeyed four of his last five holes, Fox walked onto the 18th
green with a two shot lead.
Winning the tournament in style, Fox sunk a 25 foot putt for
birdie to win by three shots with a tournament total 11-under 277.
